Today is the day.
IA Games 2009!! Whoooooooo~ XD
Woke up at 6 am.
Still limping from my ankle sprain. *sigh*
Bathed, wore my clothes, and I applied some counter-pain on my ankle.
Took Paracetamols too. Hopes it could make it less painful.
At 6.40 am, I left my house for Sungai Nibong Gospel Hall (SNGH).

Reached SNGH at about 6.50 am. It was raining.
A Toyota Avanza was there already, waiting.
Wonder whose Avanza is that. The number plate looks familiar.
5 minutes later, a Myvi arrives. I think it's the Mah brothers.
Soon at 7.05 am,
Mark arrives. I went out and hop into Mark's car.
Serene step out of her car as well. No wonder lah..Mr. David's Avanza.
We waited for the others to arrive under the rain.
"Under My Umbrella..Ella...Eh...Eh" XD
Finally Jeff arrives.
He opened the gates so we can get some shelter inside.
Bing reached a while later, followed by Hooi Siang.
We chatted while waiting for Nicholas to arrive.
When Nicholas finally arrives,
We prayed for a safe journey to the Christian Convention Center (CCC).
After praying, we all divide ourselves and hop into the cars.
ZOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM~ Off we go to CCC!
I was in Mark's car.
In the car was Titus and Benjamin as well.
It was a hell of roller coaster ride to CCC. LOL

Finally we're here at CCC.
Thought we're late..we thought wrong. XD
We're the second to arrive there..excluding the organizing committee.
Got out of the car and Matthew just arrived as well.
Walked to the hall and dropped our stuffs there.
We hang out and lay low while waiting for the others.
Saw the banner hanging on the wall.
The IA Games 2009 theme: Unity Through Humility.
When more and more arrived,
We went to the table at the entrance to register ourselves.
The Sg. Ara and Sg. Nibong Gospel Hall is the Yellow team this year.
We're given some yellow cloth each to be tied around ourselves
as a sign that we're representing our respective churches.
At 9.30 am, when most of the people are here...
We kicked start IA Games with singspiration.
Sang some familiar sings and a song that
I haven't sing for a very very very long time.
"I'm Inright, Outright, Upright, Downright" LOL
Used to sing that song in Sunday School.
I still remember where Alan challenges us,
little kids to sing that song faster than him. LOL
FYI - The tempo of this song increases as we sing the song again.
After singspiration was the morning devotion.
A brother from Burmah Road Gospel Hall (BRGH) was sharing with us.
He shared on the IA Games '09 theme. "Unity Through Humility".
After that was breakfast...

It is when you mixed around and get to know new people while you eat. LOL
The sandwiches are real good.
The person who made it is just very generous.
All sorts of ingredients can be found and best of all...there's a lot of it!
After the food..it's time for games!! Whee~
First up, Red (BRGH) versus Blue (KCC + IGGH + TGH) in Captainball.
In the mean time we, Yellow, played the indoor games first.
We have 24 people in total and we're divided into two groups.
One will play Entangled hands while the other will play Gutter Ball.
I'm in the team that is gonna play entangled hands.
The game is pretty simple...
Tie strings among each others hands and then solve the puzzle.
Hooi Siang was the team leader and his plan was brilliant.
First round, we got 1 minute 3o secs cause of some confusion.
We're thought that's good enough but we go for a second try.
The bar we set was VERY VERY HIGH...
Second round, our time was less than 10 secs. LOL

Next up is a game call Long Rope.
Its something like skipping rope but you run across it instead of jumping.
And adding to the problem...one swing, one cross.
No misses in the middle...it must be continuous.
And one mistake brings you back to square one. =O
The first thing that cross my mind..Prince Of Persia.
Where timing is everything...just that now
we don't have any Sands Of Time to rewind time
or slow down time if any mistake were to occur. LOL

Step right up..Hurry! Hurry!
Kit Sun timed for us to cross.
After 2 tries, we go for the real one.
Go! Go! Go! Go! Go! Go! Go! Go! Go!
24 people ran across successfully. Whooooooo~!
28 seconds was our time. =D
After that was Captainball. =D
Our first game...we're going against the Blue team.
Since my ankle still hurts a lil', Kit Sun put me in the first game.
I played as the defender with Benjamin.
William was the guard, Hooi Siang was the cather.
Zara, Tabitha and Yi Xin were the strikers.
FYI - If girls score, 2 points, while guys only 1.
That is why, the offense team are all girls.
We totally owned the first round against the Blue team.
Got some really good intercepts despite my injured ankle.
End of the 5 minutes quarter round...12-0.
6 goals from the girls. LOL
The next quarter round goes on and
we switch players every quarter round.
At the end, we beat the Blue team and advance to the finals.

We're going against the Red team (BRGH) in the finals.
Now...we sent out all of our heavy gunners.

The finals match was pretty tense.
Paul's guarding was superb!! His reaction is just way too fast.
In the end...We beat BRGH!!
Guess the score people!! *evil smirk*

We went back into the building for lunch.
Fried rice and a piece of fried chicken.
Sat with Bing, Kenneth, Nicholas, Jeff and Natalie and a brother for BRGH.
Makan Nasi, Eat Rice, Chiak Pui, Sek Fan XP
Hor hor...who didn't eat his veggies? XP
After lunch was Bible Jeopardy and Sword Drill.

We'll be tested based on the book of Philippians.
I didn't really prepare myself for this. =P
No one wants to sit in front LOL
And so the quiz starts.
It works something like Mr. David's add maths quiz.
Answer it right...you gain the points...
get it wrong...the number of points allocated for that question
will be deducted from your total number of points.
Sword Drill however is when a team sents out a representitive.
Then the 3 representitives will be given a Bible verse and
whoever finds it first and reads it out correctly wins.
It's very tenseful I tell you. LOL
The good thing is discussion is allowed but answer must be given within 30 secs.
Me, Vincent, Bing, Natalie and Kit Sun (I think) answered correctly each.
Tabitha's and Paul's sleight of hand score us more points through sword drill. *Applause*
Benjamin answered a 400 points question wrong. Oh no....... -400
Nuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuoooo LOL
In the end, we're second in standing.
Anyway, even the 400 points weren't subtracted away,
we're still behind BRGH by 100 points.
But I think we did good for the quiz. =D
Next up...The Nintendo Wii Challendge! Bowling and Tennis!
At the same time, half of the team will be playing team ping pong.
I joined the Nintendo Wii team since electronic games is my thing. =D
The setup
It's my first time ever playing a Nintendo Wii.
Well, I get used to any console in 5 minutes.
The Wii shouldn't be much of a problem. LOL
First up was bowling.
My bowl was something I didn't expect.
My first bowl only hits down a pin. Liau ad lah this time.
Second bowl...SPARE!! Wheeeeee~~ XD
Tabs got a spare too!
Hers one was a 9 pin fall then a one pin at the second round.
Natalie was the best! She thought she would fail....

At the 10th round, Natalie again! Go! Go!
Bowls and it's a 9 pin fall. Come on! Spare it!
Bowls............and it misses the last pin by so little.

We got 2nd placing in bowling. By 3 points!! *sigh*
But it was a good game. Had fun! =D
Next up was tennis...
Had no idea how tennis works.
I got no idea how the rules goes.
All I know is the score goes by up by 15 each time. LOL
So I went out to spectate the team ping pong.
Took some really funny shots too while I was watching.

The team ping pong ended when we lost 21-17 to BRGH.
But it was a good game. Even watching it, I was laughing non-stop. XD
I went into the hall again.
Hooi Siang and Justin just lost in a set of tennis against BRGH.
Next round is the tenseful round for us yellow team.
If we lost, BRGH wins. If we win, we'll enter the determination round.
Everyone runs away...don't wanna take part cause this match will be tenseful.
I was there standing and I got volunteered to play for that round. O.0
Who is my partner then since its a doubles game?
Tabs who was standing there as well got volunteered to play. LOL
Unlucky eh the both of us? And...the both of us never play Nintendo Wii's tennis before. =O
Liau...somemore going agaisnt BRGH's pro players. *faints*
Who cares! Just swing the controller and play lah!
Don't care whether its a out or in...
just swing the controller as hard as you can.
And so the game starts.
I was facing hell. First serve and 2 hard smashes all come to me...
By God's grace, 3 hard swings return it back and I score on the 3rd hit!!
My fellow church friends were cheering on me during the 3 return hits.
The whole hall was like "Woa...Woa...Hit! Hit!"
After we scored the first point...Mark said to me...
"All your PS2 training for the past years paid off well huh?" LOL
Indeed it paid off although it's a Nintendo Wii that I am playing now.
Tabs played well as well although it's her first time.
She scored the winning point for the set.
Great job! =D
Me and Tabs won the set therefore
our team got another shot to equalize the score.
Justin and Hooi Siang played the next set.
They play up all to a deuce but lost in the end. =/
But it was a good effort from the both of them. =D

Our team just enough 7 girls.
Tabs, Natalie, Serene, Christine, Sue Ann, Yi Xin and Zoe.
All have to compete...no choice. LOL

First we go against the blue team.
And er...our girls team beat them in like er...3 seconds?
Like taking candy from a baby. LOL
Went against the Red team later on in the finals.
The girls lost but it was a good effort from all of them. *Applause* =D

Next up was the guys.

First round goes and 1, 2 PULL!! 1, 2 PULL!!
I slipped but got up right away and started pulling my hearts out.
WTH!? The back to pulling force eh? Must be the two lil' guys behind lah...
Pull and pull we managed to win that round.
Alan was complaining as well...
And memang the problem was Benjamin and Reuben.
According to Bing...the two fellas were "flying". LOL
We substitute those two with Hooi Siang and Paul.
The upcoming rounds were so much easier.
We made our way to the finals...against BRGH.
This time, Mark took over William.
And as soon as the whistle was blown...
Paul and Mark slipped. OMG! I was losing grip as well.
We all got up right away and all of us just out of a sudden
were like wearing those Crysis nanosuits.
Activates MAXIMUM STRENGTH. Arghhhhhhhhh!!!!

Nicholas was helping a lot!! He alone is equivalent to 2 of myself. XD
As the anchor, Nic just walked back a few steps and we're back in the game.
We won the men tug-of-war!!

All of us teased Nicholas after we won.
Using a verse from the the book of Philippians..

We changed it to..."We can do anything through Nicholas who gives us strength" LOL
We went into the hall again.
Time to announce the overall results.
BRGH won overall...SAGH+SNGH came in second place
while KCC+TGH+IGGH came in third. *Applause*
Good job everyone!
We took a group picture after some refreshments.
After that, we all went on with our own separate ways.
I followed Mark home after IA Games.
Said my goodbyes, left the building and I entered Mark's car.
Its gonna be quite a long time before we reach home.
Throughout the early part of the journey home,
I was looking at this vehicle in front of Mark's.
"So close yet so far...", I thought to myself.
As soon as Mark overtakes the vehicle,
I still look at it through the side mirrors...
until its no longer in the line of sight....
I took a deep breath and sit back.
Looking back =/
Fly FM was playing on the radio but the sound was blurry.
So Mark tuned into Lite FM...the song
"Like We Never Loved Before" by Faith Hill & Tim Mcgraw
was playing at the time we tuned into Lite FM.
It's my first time listening it and gosh...
the song immediately emo-fied me. =/
It's raining, I'm tired, sad song playing on the radio...
Just like some romance drama LOL
And so after some driving...
We are at Jalan Masjid Negeri at the wrong time and the wrong weather.
Massive traffic jam...Liau!
We reached SNGH at 6.50 pm to drop Titus and Benjamin
and also to pick Zoe up since Mark is sending her home.
And we're waiting....
Titus and Benjamin's dad came at about 7.20 pm.
And so both me and Mark are still waiting for Bing to reach church
since Bing is fetching Zoe from CCC to SNGH.
At 7.30 pm, we saw a Honda City drove in. Bing Hwang!!
Both Mark and Bing wind down their window to talk and *sniff sniff*
I smell McD. Should have stopped by McD on the way back just now..
Bing is smart! LOL
Zoe hop into the car and we head back home.
Mark dropped me back at my place. Thanks Mark =D
Back at home...
Bathed...Dinner...STUDY!!
Yes! I studied...till 9.30 pm. *slap heads*
As soon as the clock strikes 9.30 pm...
I got up...switched off the lights...
fell face first down on my bed...and slept like a dead man. LOL
What a day...phewwwww
Everything I've done and happened to me today was really meaningful to me.
I don't believe it was luck...but it was God's plan. =D
